Give up trying to be perfect...

I just found this online- I think I need to post it every where around me so I can constantly remember it's truths!

"Give up trying to be perfect. – Sometimes we try to show the world that we are flawless in hopes that we will be liked and accepted by everyone.  But we can’t please everyone, and we shouldn’t try.  The beauty of us lies in our vulnerability, our love, our complex emotions – our authentic imperfections.  When we embrace who we are and decide to be authentic, instead of perfect, we open ourselves up to real relationships, real happiness, and real success.  There is no need to put on a mask.  There is no need to pretend to be someone you’re not.  You are perfectly imperfect just the way you are."

I am constantly trying to hide any flaws that I might have in hopes that people will like me and accept me! I CAN'T please everyone- I need to please myself first and then I won't care so much about what others think of me!

When it comes to videography, I am the worst.  I expect my work to look like the "veterans" that have been around for 10 years.  When it doesn't, I feel like I'm not good enough and I almost don't give myself even the chance to prove that I can do it.  With work. Hard work nonetheless, but I can do it!

I am capable of so much more than I give myself credit for.  I know that! Duh Elise...  I know that if I don't keep going after my dreams of running my own successful videography company, then someone else will and I will be left in the blowing dirt of their heels!

I just have to keep going.  Keep pushing forward.  I need to decide to be authentic to myself and love it.  Make mistakes and move on.  But most importantly I need to remember to find the joy in creation.  Create Because I Can.

I stole this off Jasmine Star's blog- whom I love.  But this gets me excited to keep pursuing that dream that will take me into the future.

Cheers.
xo- Elise

Kristen + Nick Love Story

We have been super busy the past couple of weeks- from filming couple's Love Stories, to filming two weddings, to finding the time to edit all of this amazingness together!  Andrew and I are kept on our toes- that's for sure!

We were able to film Kristen and Nick's wedding this past Saturday and had such a great time!  It was like we were hanging out with long lost friends all day long which makes our jobs even cooler!  We got together a little while ago to film their Love Story- and we had such a good time.  They took us to their favorite lookout spot (overlooking Utah Valley) and we were able to do their interviews there.  Talk about amazing.

Kristen and Nick- we might steal that secret spot of yours! :)

The views took my breath away and there were countless times that I was thanking God for this opportunity to document people's lives- what a great blessing it is! Not only do I get to peak into the inner lives of others and produce something that they will be able to hold on to and share with their kids, but I get to do it with my husband!  Life is good all around... Cannot complain!

(Now we need to find a way to get awesome health benefits so both of us can keep doing this together for the rest of our lives!)

Hope you enjoy this latest Love Story!

missionary homecoming

we posted this video on facebook last week and within 2 hours we had a call from prospective clients wondering if we could be at the airport to document the homecoming of their son! so this thursday, we are heading out to the SLC airport to see the joyous homecoming of another missionary!!

hope you enjoy!

I was away on a business trip so Andrew grabbed the camera gear and was able to film the homecoming of our cousin Sean. If anyone knows me, I am a sucker for anything mission related! I was so excited to come home and see this footage to work with- I definitely got teary eyed as Sean came walking down the hall towards his family!
Wish I could've been there but I am so happy Andrew was able to!!

Welcome home Elder Cassity!

Kelsie and Nick's Wedding Highlight

I'm slowly working on creating a blog for us... bear with me! This is all new!
Just wanted to start posting some of our work here for people to enjoy... we are gearing up for our BUSY summer! Can't wait!

Hope you enjoy Kelsie and Nick's vid!

What. A. Fun. Wedding.!! Nick and Kelsie were married in the Salt Lake Temple and then had their reception up in Evanston, Wyoming. The great thing about it all is that we got to be apart of every mile of that journey!

Nick and Kelsie met years ago in California while their dad's went to Mortuary school together. Kelsie's family moved to Wyoming and Nick's family moved to Utah but they still remained family friends throughout all the years because of the bond of their dads.

Last Summer Nick's dad decided to do some Facebook "Research" and he started to stalk Kelsie a little to find out her relationship status. After some time, and their dad's putting their minds together, Nick was finally encouraged to call Kelsie and ask her out. I guess you could say, "The rest is history!"

They have such a great love about them that is serious and fun. Our stomach muscles were put to the test as Kelsie, Nick, and their families kept us laughing all day long!

Congratulations Nick and Kelsie! You guys are bound to have years and years of happiness ahead of you! Thanks for inviting us to be apart of your big day and for allowing us to capture all of your special moments!

Enjoy the video!
